An Introduction To Zookeeping At ZSL London Zoo For Two
Want to meet some special species at the world famous ZSL London Zoo? With a group of other enthusiasts, put on your provided zookeeping outfit and get involved. Your host is an experienced zoo keeper and will instruct and help you carry out a number of tasks on the day. Along with meeting and feeding lots of different animals, you can try mucking out enclosures, preparing food and devising enrichment. Take away a t-shirt, certificate and bag for life as souvenirs of your unforgettable day. Lunch is included.
Availability
The experience takes place all year round on Wednesdays, excluding Christmas Eve, New Years Eve and public holidays.
Participant Guidelines
Minimum age is 16 with a reasonable level of fitness. The experience is not suitable for pregnant women, those who have given birth within the previous six months and is impractical for wheelchair users.
Weather
ZSL London Zoo's keepers work in all conditions so the weather should not affect your experience, although the itinerary may change slightly if conditions are unsuitable for any aspect of the day.
Duration
Your experience begins at 8.45am and you can expect to be at the venue for around four and a half hours, including an hour for lunch.
Numbers On Day
Expect to share your experience with up to four other enthusiasts and a qualified zoo keeping host.
Spectators
The experience is exclusively for fee paying voucher holders but friends and family can spend the day in the zoo (entry tickets can be purchased from 10am).
Dress Code
Wear practical clothes suitable for outdoors in sometimes muddy and mucky conditions, with sturdy shoes or boots.
